Native plants are superior to exotic species because they are adapted to local soils, pests, and climate. Many of our native plants are highly valued, not only for their rarity and implications for conservation, but also for their exceptional ability to attract pollinators. Native species are also more nutritious for grazing animals and more cost-effective for farmers and ranchers than non-native alternatives. They are environmentally friendly, highly sustainable, and require minimal irrigation, fertilizer, and pesticides.
Please fill out the form below and someone from the Ecology Center will contact you directly in reference to pricing and availability of your desired seed order. Because the Cajun Prairie is a "tall grass" prairie, it is important to be aware of your desired upper height limits, specifically for residential gardens. Therefore we also suggest that you check the average height of your desired plant species before selecting them.
Select your desired plant species and you will be prompted to indicate seed amount and unit of measurement (gram, ounce, or pound). If you're interested in plants/plugs indicate such in your description and leave unit of measurement blank.
