The American Journal of Botany showcases Ecology Center research.

Ecology Center research and cover photograph are published in a prestigious scientific journal.  Abstract: The native blue-flowered Iris hexagona and the introduced yellow-flowered Iris pseudacorus appear similar but have different impacts on wetlands.  Native irises are important members of Louisiana wetlands, but introduced irises reduce biodiversity, displace native vegetation, and degrade natural resources.  Both species co-occur in Louisiana.  Mopper et al. (2016) investigated the implications of competitive interactions between the species. Photo by Karl Hasenstein.
